Once in a life-time horse! Defender Z is the future for show jumping horse breeding. A stallion that has everything it takes to play a major role in both breeding and top sport. In terms of conformation, jumping manners, canter and pedigree, he is the epitome of the modern sport horse. During the performance test, in addition to his jumping qualities, he was praised for his canter, attitude and intelligence. His father Dominator 2000 Z is the “breeders darling” of Zangersheide. The stallion who was allowed to cover so many mares from the start seems to more than live up to expectations. With Christian Ahlman this stallion is a superstar in the ring. But in 2021 we know that the dam line may say even more about the quality of a stallion than the sire. And that fantastic dam line is definitely present in Defender Z. His first breeding years have already produced more than sixty international showjumping horses, the ultimate example being, of course, Grand Prix and World Cup winner Beauville Z (ds.Jumpy des Fontaines). Bred from the first crop of Bustique, this gelding made history by winning the individual bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Tokyo with Maikel van der Vleuten, and added team silver and individual bronze at the WEG in Herning last year. Bustique also distinguishes itself with offspring such as Florida Balia NL, Hendrick's HX, Berdien, Footlose HX and Golia. Time and time again, the Indoctro son proves to produce real winners.
